Spring is not only a wonderful time of year because we are almost out of the cold weather and into shorts, but for media companies, it’s an ideal time for reader engagement.
Specifically it’s one of the best seasons of the year to ask readers to share content with you.
Reader call-to-actions are a wonderful way of taking moments of life that are important to your readers and asking them to share photos and text with your media company.
Just think about times of the year when you are snapping photos that you’re sure to keep around in your camera roll like holidays and proud family achievements.
Your readers have lots of these moments captured and are willing to share. All of you to do is ask.
Call-to-action moments of life are pretty simple to do. Create a graphic for the theme and simply ask your audience to share by posting their content in the comments of that post or emailing your news organization. It’s also a good idea to consider — based on the specific call to action — if you can work with groups in your community to seek their content. Consider things like for Mother’s Day, asking a school to share drawings of mom, as an example.
We have ideas for April
We have come up with four proven call-to-actions for the month of April that are sure to be winners with your audience. The call-to-actions are mostly photo driven and ask readers to share images from the Easter activities, proms, spring photos and favorite brunch spots.
Below you can find downloadable social media graphics that are yours to use in April. If you’re interested in receiving editable files of these, please email david@davidarkinconsulting.com and we’ll provide them.
